My Challenge 4

Wow, I've been slack at posting! We're already working on 6, and I forgot to post 4!! Challenge 4 was the "Art & Soul" challenge, you had to use something artsy (or altered) and then journal from the soul. Shannon went for the altered vintage style and I went paint splat artsy!

I'm working on my challenge 5, I had the idea to use some scans and I can't find the items I was wanting to scan in! Shannon finished 5 and challenge 6 was for one of us to scraplift the other and Shannon is pretty much done with that one too! I may need a new plan! But we have til Sunday to post our challenges!

Thanks for reading! Happy Wednesday Rabbit!

Challenge 4

Well, this was an interesting topic. We had to do something artsy. I am NOT an artsy person. Luckily I found a cute kit by Garden Girl Designs called Grandma's Attic. It was just perfect for the layout of my Great-Grandparents.

Shannon's Layout for Challenge #3

The boss called - well, not really - she sent me an IM "hinting" that I post my 3rd challenge for ADSR.

My first ever layout was posted at Scrapbook Bytes. I have forgotten how basic that layout was until I went back to look at it. I definitely have come a long way.
Basic huh? Well here is my updated layout.
Better huh? I used a kit named Alexander by Ilona Havenaar. Cute kit huh?

I'm looking forward to the 4th challenge...I wonder what we'll have to do this time.

Challenge 2 and 3!

Challenge 2 was the first one where we had to collaborate as a team and make only one layout. The theme was hard too: Cabin Fever and then there were a bunch of element requirements as well. We only had 4 days too! Shannon and I spent several days talking about what to do and we finally came up with the idea to take pics of both of our kids looking out the window or door like they wanted to go outside in the snow. Then she got a new kit from Colie's Corner & Sweet Digi Scraps called Mystic Moonlight and thought it would be perfect for us, so I went and got it too!

Shannon started us out and did the photo arrangement and placed a few of the elements and papers. Then she sent it off to me and I finished it up! I got it finished up last night, so Shannon checked my work today and I got it posted at NDISB today and whew! Nothing like waiting til the last day!! Here is our masterpiece:

Today is also the day they posted the next challenge! It was a relief to see this one after the last one!! Gotta Pixel hosts this one and we had to essentially redo our first digital layout. Must use the same exact photos and text/titles, but everything else can be different. It was so much fun that I did it right away! I made the first layout back in August 2006. The old layout is first and the new one is below it.

When I first tried digital scrapping out, I decided to work on a cat book while I learned how to do things in my program. I never did finish that cat book.... I guess it won't be complete while I still have a cat! haha

Phew!

I finally got my layout finished. Poor Fran...I was bugging since Sunday to figure out how to tear pictures. Then it clicked...Hummie gave us tears to use. DUH! Finally I was able to get my layout done. Since Fran posted all about the challenge, I'll just post my layout. I used Thrills and Chills by Colie's Corner and the Snow Alpha by Garden Girl Designs.

Thanks for coming to visit us!!

It's begun!! Woo hoo!!

Shannon kept talking to me about troubles with tears and I was like... why are you making tears? She's like duh, the ADSR first challenge is out and it's TEARS! Oh.. lovely... tears! All my previous attempts at tears are not the best, so eons ago I got tear templates, go me! I knew they would come in handy someday! The challenge was to cut a picture into 3 or more pieces with tears. And of course I turned it into a CT Layout as well. Didn't intend to, but I was tearing up my pic and figured what would be perfect with tears?? A worn crumpled look too! Sooo I used Worn Out Overlays and Worn Out Elements by Happy Scrap Girl. The overlay is on the brown background paper and the elements kit is used on the main pic, the circle pic and the beige strip. There are 15 different shapes in the kit for all your worn needs. And I started thinking I needed some embellies, and since I'm lazy, I naturally looked one kit away in my organizing system, which would be Taylor by Happy Scrap Girl. The rusted elements seemed perfect to me for the topic! I originally had backgrounds I made myself, but then decided to slip in some Taylor papers as well! And 3 of them at that! LOL Anyway... here's the layout. The ADSR race is hosted by NDISB, so you can see it at their gallery here.

Well, didn't mean to blabber so much, about to go blabber on my own blog... probably some uh similar text too! haha Shannon is working on hers and her masterpiece will be done today she claims!
